THE EFFECT OF JOB SATISFACTION ON EMPLOYEES’ PRODUCTIVITY IN NIGERIA: FOCUS ON YALE FOODS LIMITED, LAGOS.


ABSTRACT
          The research is interested in examining the effects of job satisfaction on employee productivities on a company called Yale foods limited plot 2A, Block Oluyole Estate, Ring Road, Ibadan.
          Locke (1976) defined job satisfaction has a pleasurable or positive emotion state, resulting from the appraised of one’s job or job experience.
          The relationship of job satisfaction between increased or decreased (Low) productivity have been traced beyond the tasks itself (i.e the job) and it has been discovered that exist a lot of other variable that are incidental to the job play vital roles too e.g leadership, medical system, security of tenure etc.
          Asika (1985) submitted that the satisfaction that employees derived from their employment is largely, department on the extent to which the job and everything associated with it meet their needs expectation and values which constitute a few of the associated variable of job satisfaction. Hence Inamga and et al of (20010) their contribution to the subject had opinion that the term job satisfaction with reference to employment relates to an employee’s general affective attitude or orientation toward his job to the extend that a person’s job fulfils his dominant needs and is consistent with his expectation and value, the job can be deemed to be satisfying.
          Productivity improvement: - The level of productivity of workers at any point in time will be determined by their level of efficiency and effectiveness productivity is a measure of how well resources are combined and utilized. By the same taken it is a measure of what is received in turn for what is given.
